We arrived in New York today, wow!! what a place, it just hits you, the skyscrapers all around its fantastic, we got a yellow cab from the airport to our hotel, its just by Time Square which is close to everything we need, the theatres are just by us as well all along Broadway.
The first thing we did was to go up the Rockerfeller Centre one of the tallest buildings with a viewing platform, we went up to the 70th floor and could see the whole new york skyline, the empire state building was straight in front of us and we looked over the Hudson River as well.
We have also been to central park which is huge but nice to see some greenery in amongst all the tall buildings. The park is so big that you can ride in one of the many horse drawn carriages, there is also a massive lake, a carousel and even an ice skating rink. As i imagined it was full of people jogging and cycling but most of all its the people on roller blades that really makes you feel you are in central park!!!
On one of our taxi journey going alongside the Hudson River we passed ground zero, it was a huge site and its difficult to believe the twin towers once stood there. Building work is now being carried out and one tall tower is being built in the middle of the new complex.
