We got up today and got all packed and sorted for Vietnam. Flying in at 5pm we had a 4 hour wait in the airport till Dani arrived from Melbourne at 9pm which was a well needed chill out time after our scare..
Just as we were leaving the airport Christelle went to put her jumper in her bag and noticed the lock was missing. As she unzipped it she noticed there was a parcel in there that was not hers. Immediately we thought someone was trying to smuggle drugs through us and started to freak out. We were right by the security at the doors and didnt know what we should do. Having both watched 'Banged up abroad' we knew how common it was for drugs to be smuggled and also how many innocent people get locked up. So did we tell them the truth? But risk them not believing us? Or put it back in our bag and walk out and just dump it somewhere? Unfortunately our white faces made it too hard to just walk out so we went and told someone at a desk. He told us to follow him n passed the bag back which we kept saying was NOT ours but he didnt seem to understand us.
He took us to another desk and they just took it off us and it turned out to be just some sort of clothes from a quick glance in the bag we had there. As soon as we handed it over though we got ourselves straight out and away!! It was such a frightening experience because we both thought the worst and were so relieved it wasn't!
We then walked to a nearby mall and sat and waited for Dani!
