WERE ALIVE!!!!!!!
sorry its been so long since i have been on here to tell you about your exciting lives (lol) so went went to halong bay on the boat cruise and it was lovely - would have been even nicer if the weather was really sunny, but netherless we had (i say we i mean terrry) was stuffed with sea food the whole trip every meal was seafood seafood seafood! he says it was really amazing to start with but they gave the same dishes basically for breaskfast lunch and dinner lol.
we went kyacking around halong bay and we jumped of our boat etc. we would have spent more time swimming but once out the water it was freezing. We also went to a cave whcih we were very excited about as it was supposed to be best cave in halong bay, but it was very touristy- had all thoes coulerd light for effect and some of the animals supposed to be found i the cave looked like someone had chissled them in there lol
The next day we headed for the island cat ba! here we climbed a mountain.. thats right with our own two feet right to the top. it was amazing though our choice of flip flops wernt so great lol. once we got to the top (which was bloody hard work) we had to then climb this steel framed kinda hut thing for about another 20m and then the view was unbelievable.
though a little scary at the top! climbing down the same way with people still climbing up was definately the hardest part.
we then visited a beach at cat ba to relax terry and some sweedish guys we met played some footbal-this made him v happy lol. then that night we all went to a bar round the corner and we had a few pre drinks first so we were all merry and as soon as we got there the guide was so pleased to see us that he got us all a round of shots... which were vial! and we found out after they were snake wine shots and its all the venim and crap of all the creatures kept in this jar and then you drink it. well after 2 of those terry had to take me home- there is a stupid % in it.
As soon as we got back to hanoi we booked an over night 24 hour bus the next day to go to loas. We went to this resturant with an amazing view of hanoi...it was really random though you go through a calvin klien shop and go to the lift and press for top floor and at the top was this qute little resturant wich looked out over the main river in the old quater. it was really lovely up there- food wasnt amazing but view was!
we were told that the bus would get us from the hostel, so we thought great, but then a little man arrived with a bike helmet for us each and was like on you get im taking you to the bus.... so me and terry mortified at the thougth had to get on a bike each with our massive backpacks on our backs and the small ones on the front. terry loved it and i was completely horrified! lol the weight of the bags pull you back so we were leaning forward and using our legs to try and hold on - which killed us both after.
when we got to the bus and go settled in terry was on top bunk so he was ok and slept about 20 of the hours. i was on bottom and not only by the toilet and the speaker where crazy asian music blared out until about 1.30am but as the journey went on the bus driver would pick random poeple up on the way and they would sleep in the isles. and i swear at one point there were about an extra 20 on the bus and when laying down i felt as if ii was laying in bed with two strange men as they were inches away from me and on both sides lol
When we got to vientine we caght another bus straight away to vang vieng (only 3.5hr) this is where we had soooo much fun! vang vieng is know for its tubing- you have this big doughnut (inside of a tractor tire tube or something like that) and you start at a point of the river and float down- though as you float down there are bars along the sides. at the bars the are guys with ropes and they pull you in to thier bar and give you lots of free shots. the whole river take about 3 hours to float down begining to end. and it prob takes 5/10 mins to float past just the bars before theres no bars if you dont stop- but we nenver manage after 4 attempts to make it to the end of the river lol. there was lots of rope swings and slides ect on the bars and they payed silly games and music etc was brilliant. we made mades with 2 american girls on the bus and 2 ozzie guys. the guys had a flight after a couple days but the girls traveled with us til we left lasos.
we also had 2 days off exploring. one day was not so sucessful, we hired out push bikes due to my fear of bikes and rode over random field and past all these cows to get to theses amazing caves and lagoon. we get there and its a bit of a pokey cave and was more of a pond than a lagon lol.
our next trip was more sucessful. we met this ozzie couple and had been tubign with them for a couple days and the guy got terry all excited about goin on the bike to some caves with them so.............. were hired a scooter as it was a little way away(ahhhhh) and i burnt my leg on the bloody thing - the one thing terry kept reminding me not to do. he loved driving it though and cant wait to do it again, preferably without me on the back screaming... slow down even though we wernt probably going 20m/h.
We went to these two cool caves on was a complete water cave and you wore thoes silly head lamps and had to sint in a turbe and float through it pulling yourself with a rope into the cave. the other we walked though but it was no pretend turist money making cave it was real cave where bits of it we were nearly crawling on our hands and knees (also with our silly headlights on lol) and through watery bits and we go to the half way mark which had taken us ages and thought we had enough and went back.....
the next four /5 days till now we havent done much. i got ill in vang vieng with some kind of bug and was sick loads so couldnt move eat sleep or drink without being/feeling sick and then we left to go back to vientine as we needred to travel down to sourthern vietnam. but when we got to vientiene we had a day to explore but i had to go back to hostel as i was too ill, and then we had ou next 19hr bus to denang vietnam- this was a sitting bus- not so comfy!!! we stayed there one night (it poured of rain the whole time) and in the morning got a loacal bus to hoi an this only took an hour or so. we wanted to stay in hoi an for a while as its beautiful but its rainy season there and after an hour of the rain you didn want to be in it any more so last night we booked an over night bus 14 hrs to nha trang where its a little brighter yay! not sure where about we are goin be for xmas day or new years but after here we are going to mui ne and then hochimin city and they to sanouksville in cambodia - if we get there for ny that would be great!!
WE ARE BOTH OK AND WE MISS YOU ALLL LOADS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
