hello everyone, here we are again!! long time since we have updated... id like to say it was becasue we have been soo busy- but its not!! we have mainly been sunning ourselves on various beaches around thailand and drinking & eating alot!!!!!! ITS A HARD LIFE.
so after chang mai (which is where i thinki last wrote about) we went back to bangkok for a couple days and had a shop about and went out there! then we left for koh tao one of the shouthern islands on the east side of the mainland! the trip there was pretty grim as the bus wouldnt stop for breaks and so we got to the ferry port about 2am and the ferry didnt arrive til 7am so we had 5 hours of laying about on the floor trying to have a little sleep. we werent disappointed when we got to koh tao thou, it was lovely! we managed to find cheap amazing accomodation 2 mins from the beach and the beach was beautiful- clear waters! an its so small there there is lots to do- one day we hired a bike with our oz friends we met up with thre and traveled the island from top to bottom and different beaches where we went snorkeling etc. we also meet up with 4 friends here whish we met on the way- peopel we meet at the begining of our trip in vang vien, laos-so it made it all the more better.
we reluctantly left ( as we loved it soooo much) and went to koh phangan a couple days before full moon party on the 30th. It was quite expensive here due to full moon but after 2 nights of stupid price accomodation we got to saty for free in our american friends room :-). we had an amazing time partying here. there is a party every night on the full moon beach where there are lots of drinking buckets flying around. platforms, fire throwers, LOUD music, people peeing in the sea but there are also pool partys. we went to one aqt coral bungalows where we all ended up in the pool in most our clothes being rather silly. for full moon party we cover ourselves in reflective paint in different colours- again looking stupid. this was pretty much all we did for 4 days and went ot the beach during the day! unfortunately i have no pics of this sillyness due to my camera braking in koh tao but there are some pics on fb we been tagged in .
We left again and went back to koh tao and did our open water divers course which now means we can go up to 18m deep. we had a written exam ( which was SO easy as if you didn know the answer you could ask lol we still maaged to get 5 wrong each lol) and we had 4 dives and an introductory skills lesson. terry was a pro and could do everything i struggled with my mask and wouldnt ( i literally refused) to take the thing off underwater. but to pass the course i had to and i managed to do it 12 m under the water thou if i did it at the begining i cuda done it at 4 lol. We saw 3 MASSSIVE sharks , they wer about 10ms below us but they were huge- dont worry we didnt loose any legs or arms. we say lots pretty fishes including crazy snapper fish and big stingrays amonst other stuff. anyways were now DIVERES woo, we wished we could have done another course after this one teh advanced open water so that we could have gone 30m under and a night dive- but cos of time and money we'll save that for another time! but now this means that when we go to australia we can do some dives in the great barrier r.
Again we didnt want to leave but we did. we travelled round the southern islands firsdt Koh Samui- we didnt like it here it reminded me of a sort of greece holiday when your 17, too touristy and basically all can do is drink and the beach wasnt nice. Then next we went to Ao Nang on the main land so we could get to the islands on the other side, this was nice but nothing special adn we did trip to rayleigh beach, but i managed to get a decent cheapish camera so im back to taking lots of pics again.
then we went to Koh PiPi, ahhh was so pretty here. we were supprised how small it was but it was nice, we only stayed a couple days as accomdation was expensive. we went snorkeling day trip which was lots of fun. we had a little boat with abotu 6 other people and snorkeled at about 5 spots, went to private beach for lunch and went to the beach where the film 'the beach'was filmed before headin to watch the sun set- you can only see this from boat not from the mainland cos of how its shaped. we also climed to one of the view points which is up the mountain like hills which surrond the towm in the middle. here is was lovely view byt hard work gettin there lol. there is also a bar called regee bar which has a boxing ring in the middle. they encourage drinkers in to flight and gove them a free bucket and t-shirt after, our friend went in (a girl) and her and the other girl got booed as they didnt do much. but when other guys got in it was scary. they were propper punching and kicking etc, a couple made it funny doing wrestling moves ect. though is kinda worrying all these alcohol fuelled men throwing punches but no-one got hurt and it was rather entertaining, but me and terry wouldnt do it lol .
we went to phuket after this, terry had a suit and shirt made - which looks very nice and we went to a mai tai boxing match which was so cool. we saw peopel get knocked out cold and there were girls ans boys and men flighting. the youngest boy fighting was 14 and he had like 40 fights already or something stupid like that! and that was it for thailand...
our favourite places was cahang mai and koh tao and would reccomend everyone going. Mainly the south islands were all the smae with a little something different about it but all was fun :-)
