After a long, long, extremely long Thursday, we arrived in Istanbul. I was busting down the door to get off that plane. You all know I had tons of luggage and my arms were so weak, I thought they'd fall off before we got to the hotel.
Today we arrived around 9:30 and were wisked on to our hotel.
The Grand Hyatt was absolutely gorgeous. The staff very courteous and friendly. Bunny and I could not go for the walk our tour guide Berna had in store for us. We got our showers and hit the sack for 3 hours.
Around 6:30 the group walked around the block to the "Kebap House" for dinner. The place was kinda dark and kinda old, but the food was tasty. I had sticker shock after the waiter ran outside after me, while we were taking pictures, to pay for the Coke and coffee I'd ordered. I didn't know that our drinks weren't included and at $7, I was surely going to stick with the case of water and case of soda I'd packed in my luggage. The cup of coffee was so small and for $3 I should have expected a name brand coffee, not instant Nescafe.
So, exhausted and tired, we headed back to the hotel to try and get some sleep, as we knew tomorrow was going to be an extrememly busy day.
