Hello all,
well i finally made it too New Zealand after what seemed like an endless amount of time sat in an aeroplane. My flight was delayed by 3 hours from Heathrow, which meant i missed my conecting flight to Christchurch from Auckland, but i was able to get a later flight. I got into Christchurch around 1ish Thursday, and headed straight to the base packer hostel. I was very happy after having a shower because i felt tired and horrid. I got talking to a couple of girls in the dorm, and went to dinner with them which was good. Think i went to bed about 9.
The next day i booked a coach down to Queenstown, this went via Mt Cook. The national park is stunning with mountains everywhere. There was also a Mt Wakefield. Here is had some lunch and sat out in the sunshine. I think the coach trip took 7 hours all in, but the drivers where also tour guides. I was the youngest person on the trip, but this was good as i needed time to just relax.
Once in Queenstoen i met up with a friend from England, he has been living out here for a year so was nice to see a familiar face. As soon as i got into queenstown we started drinking, and didnt get to bed till 2am. yikes.
I attempted going out on my mtb th next day, but felt really tired and dizzy and even managed to fall off my bike and tumble down the side of a hill, so am currently covered in scratches and bruises. I think im suffering quite a bit from jet lag as i havent felt right since getting here. I also managed to get my bank card swallowed by the cash machine, so after panic and fantic emails/texts to mum and simon i managed to get it back this morning. The lady said i was lucky because not many backs will receive a retained card. Thank goodness, i would of been in a spot of bother other wish. thanks mum and simon for helping me out. Slightly annoying the time different, can't just ring you guys up.
anyhoo today ive been taking it easy and went to read my book in the park, i then took the gondola up onto one of the mountain sides in queenstown, i also had a go on the luge, this ride is awesome. You just rag it down a track, i tried to do a berm corner but managed to get the luge stuck. was good fun. am back at Dunc's at the moe and will hopefully be meeting up with Anna who i haven't seen since leaving school.
Hope everyone is ok, am missing you lot loads. Really wish you were here.
