A long train journey to Thurso! On the train at Edinburgh at 9:30 at Thurso for 17:45... Pretty cream crackered. Thurso is much quieter than I remembered, nit many people in the hostel, two workies are here doing contract work for a local nuclear power station called Doubreay. They are in the middle of decommisioning it but work is very thin on the ground despite this they were not given permission to go home. They looked utterly fed up watching a workies version of bargin hunt. Going to have sweet potatoes, chick peas and rocket in a tomato sauce then Baz is going to teach me to 'tweek the bike'. Then a lovely shower and bed! Was a little suprised that it's mixed dorms- would have packed my proper pj's if i'd known. The weather is looking mighty good for our first few days! We set off down the East Coast next to the sea to Rogart to Sleeperzzzzz which is an unusual and very cute hostel in train carriages!
