Well i thought it time i bore you with my travels.... i landed in mumbai to fly straight down to goa, and first stop there was anjuna which was really chilled out. started to find my feet and got talking to a guy called mark whos travelling alone, hung out for a few days before i moved down to baga. from anjuna i did a day tour of north goa taking in the sites of old goas church and museum, lots of temples, a spice plantation where i had some beautiful food and tried fenny which is a local brewed alchol made from cashew nuts... blows your head away!! also went through little villages and dodged the cows that have taken over the streets, sidewalk... everywhere!
Baga, got there saturday afternoon, by the evening the guesthouse boys had told me an aussie guy was here alone so brought him over to talk to me, richard turned out to be a laugh so went to the bar/club mambos which was on a high that night. few beers and the rest of it!! on the way back to sunset cottages we stopped at xaviers, which was kool but apparently i attract to much attention being the only white girl there so left after awhile. Rich left the next day so i ventured to the beach for brunch and the table of 4 next to me started to chat with me and asked me to join them on the beach if i wanted, they were kool so i did... and im so happy i meet them. There was martin, al and ian from norwich and Bo from new zealand, hung out all day and then night and realized bo and i was heading the same kind of direction so decided to meet up and travel together. 2 girls are better than 1!
Again they left the next day for palolem, i seem to meet people who leave the next day? well it was raining most of the day so i caught up on some reading etc... well that nite i had some perv on the roof trying to take a peep, he got his come upants as he feel making every tile on the roof shudder. he got booted out its safe to say. the next day an indian family, 2 brothers one wife and a friend, made sure i was all right and invited me to dinner at there friends, i went and have never eaten such nice food, tiger prawns the size of my hand... amazing? we went drinking and dancing to top the night. next day they insisted i come to lunch with them which turned out a trip into panjin ( capital of goa) and coffees. they were really sweet and one is going to thailand so might meet up there.
Headed down to palolem to meet up with bo, the boys left as a arrived, which was a shame. bo`s friend alex was there and she was working in bangolor but had taken a break to the beach. Palolem was chilled spent a few days the eating good food drinking to much ( im getting a beer belly) and enjoying late night chats. I found a guy sid from southend, small world hu? went for bike rides and had a dodge late nite massage!! dont ask? some of the most beautiful places in goa, you must come and see.
goa goa gone! Monday morning started the longest trip iv endured, 36 hours in all by the time we arrived in jaipur. the train trip was cool but needed to break it up. jaipur was the first bigish city we`ve been to and when i say manic mayhem EVERYWHERE i mean everywhere. bikes over take buses going round the round about with people walk out crossing willy nilly cars and rikashews dodging cows elephants and camels pulling carts, pigs eating rubbish and all the while your trying to take it all in! amazingly crazy a city who doesnt quite know how to run yet. our driver ricky took us to shops, spent to much but have caught the bug, pink city, floating palace and tiger fort, was ill the next day but ventured out by nite. got the nite bus down to udaipur and have had a break from the hussel and bussel of a big city to a lively town, surrounded by green lush mountain terrain. loads of rivers and lakes to. went to one of the highest peaks to see the monsoon palace, been to villages and drank tea, joined in at a temple that played music and chanted and sung hindi songs whilst passing their peace pipe around and went to the city plalace which is huge and grand.
today we leave for jodpuir, we can only spend a night there as we want to do a camel trek into the dessart for a nite or two, and the festival of lights is on the 21 oct and we want to be in reshikesh for that as its ment to be a spiritul hub, cant wait! so signing off for now i hope you like the pictures when i get around to updating them. see you (not that soon for most of you) and take care Hxxx
