Hayley & Holly On Tour 2006
Hello everyone,
Well i will take up our LA adventures from where Hayley left off....
We had our last day in LA doing a last bit of sightseeing. We went down to Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame to see if Clarke Gable has a star. Alas we couldnt find his elusive star so we contented ourselves with having a proper look at other peoples star (most of whom we have never heard of!) and saw that outside the Kodak Theatre they were setting up for the finale of American Idol. There was a red carpet and all the television crews setting up and more security guards hanging around than you could shake a stick at but yet again no sighting of a celebritiy- what do you have to do these days to get a sighting!!!
Whilst perousing the area we were approched by a gentleman who offered us tickets to be in the audience for The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. We dont get the show in England and havent even heard of Craig Ferguson but thought it may be fun to go anyway. So at 4:15 we trundled down to the CBS studios and were sat on benches and told about the show and were warmed up by a comedian called Chunky B who made us pratice our fake belly laughs and cheering- apparently the louder we were the funnier Craig Ferguson would be! We were ushered into the studio still not knowing who guests on the show would be- in the end it was a music group called the Wreckers who we have never even heard off. They werent filming the whole show for some reason which was a shame as the other guest was Ricki Lake. It was good fun though and our faces hurt from the fake and real laughter. It was also good to see how they made the show.
After this we went to Johnny Rockets for the biggest burger, fries and milkshake we have ever seen. The sort where you need to lay down and rub the belly afterwards! We also learnt a very valuable lesson that when in America you dont need to order side dishes as their mains could actually feed a normal person for a week!
To aid digestion we then went and watched the American Idol final on the television in the hostel. Its a bigger affair then our version, it had guest singers including Meat Loaf (who was s***!), Mary J Blige, Dionne Warrick and Bert Barrach! Some dude with grey hair won over a far better singer but apparently he had the support of the south- from Alabama- and thats why he won.
We have now left LA and are currently in Boston but you shall have to wait for the next exciting installment of the adventures of Hayley and Holly!!
Missing you all
Love
Holly and Hayley
