Hi everyone,
Day 19 we did a tour of Kuala Lumpur. It started with a photo stop at the Sultan's Palace. We tried to get the guards to smile, no luck tho! Then we went to the National Monument. This commemorates the people who fought in 3 wars for Malaysia. It would have been more impressive if the fountains had been working, but they were undergoing cleaning! After that we went up the KL Tower. We got 360 views of KL and got good close up pictures of the Petronas Towers, they are very impressive! Then we went to the Pewter factory. We're not really sure why we went there, probably just a souvenir stop! It was very random, and included a view of the people handmaking all the pewter products. Our final stop was the Batu Caves. We climbed 272 steps carved into the rock, which didn't go down too well with people's hangovers in the rising heat! The most impressive sight at the top was the monkies, who stole everything from water bottles, to crisps, to flowers and even torches!!
In the afternoon we had a quick look round the market then headed to the Petronas Towers in the evening. They were very impressive lit up and we took various photos holding them up!!
And that was our time in KL, or so we thought!
