Hayley & Mark's Travels
Hey everyone,
Were in India at last.
Before we tell you about India, let us tell you about Malaysia and Singapore......
After leaving Thailnad we arrived in Malaysia by ferry- directly to Langkawi. We stayed in Langkawi for a week just relaxing and sunbathing. A really nice little island with really nice resturants. We were quite surprised to discover that alcohol was rarely served. We found a really nice hotel down the beach and luckily we were able to have some cocktails. Due to us not really having large amounts of drink whilst we have been away, everytime that we do have a drink we both end up getting rather drunk on about 2 beers. Such lightweights. Nether mind tho the drink is so cheap costing around 30p
Unfortunetly one night after being out we came back to our bungalow and mark decided to fiddle around with his camera. The camera had around 500-600 pictures of vietnam, cambodia and thailand. And guess what..... they all got deleted. Arrgghh!! We were so gutted. Thank god i've still got mine. Its so annoying though.
Anyway back to good news. We left Langkawi and headed down south to Kuala Lumpar. We stayed there for a couple of nights- visiting the Petronas Towers and did a spot of shopping and visited the tallest building in Malaysia- and got a lift to the top 560 metres tall. We left Malyasia and headed to Singapore where we were catching our flight to India.
Arrived in Singapore by bus, and was pleasently surprised. After being told that Singapore has a feeling of being very clinical, we found that it wasn't at all. It was very clean and rather wealthy but after being in places that we not at all like Singapore we really liked it. We unfortunetly only stayed in Singapore for one night, however if we stayed any longer we would have seen our money disappear, as it was expensive. Said goodbye to SouthEast Asia and headed to India.
We arrived in Mumbai (Bombay) at arounf 10pm. We decided to stay close to the airport as Colaba where we wanted to stay was a 1 1/2 hour taxi ride. We stayed in an airport hotel and left for Colaba the next morning.
W stayed in Bombay for 3 days. We stayed in a lovely hotel, really living it up.. ordering room service around the clock and watching movies. We explored Mumbai a little but found that there really wasn't much to see or do, so we found ourselves in the hotel room most of the time. Never mind we are going back to Mumbai later in the month. Mumbai was busy and as you can imagine very dirty. It was very strange seeing a different race after being surrounded by east asians.
We booked ourselves on to a flight to Goa. We arrived yesterday. We are staying in a shappy beach bungalow on very high stilts, with gaps and the room door not raching the celing. Sharing a communal bathroom, we have yet to discover in the dark visits in the middle of the night.. im sure that will be amusing.
Just been for a lovely meal and off for a few drinks. Im still recovering from last night, again after having not that much to drink me and mark felt the effects this morning, and ive only just felt 100% just now, haha.
I hope you are all well and that the weather in England is not to cold, haha.
Will write soon.
Love to you all
