Hayley & Mark's Travels
Hi All,
Sorry fo the delay. We arrived in Cambodia (Phnom Penh) today after a 7.30 hour journey. Sad to leave Vietnam, but know that we have lots more amazing things to see.
Update on what we have done in Vietnam. After leaving Hanoi we arrived in Hue another city but much smaller, didn't really do much and wasn't that much to see so we left to head down to the beaches. Arrived in Hoi An. Hoi An is a small little town with more great beaches. The weather by now has reached mid 30C, so we have truly left behind english weather. Again more realxing and cycling around by bikes. Stayed in a really nice hotel " GreenField"- breakfast, free cocktails and a swimming pool all included, starting to really feel that were able to chill out now.
Stayed in Hoi An for another 2 days and went to Nha Trang- a busy town with lots of travellers, bars and resturants. Here we stayed in "Perfume Grass Inn" recommended by the Lonely Planet. Really nice and comfortable and 2 mins stroll to the beach. Here we treated ourselves to a day of pampering. We visited Tpa Hot Springs, where we bathed in mineral mud, soaked in the hot spring pools and had Thai Massages, where these little Vietmanese ladies were clmbing on our backs and massaging us- an experience in its self.
Packed our bags and headed for Mui Ne a small fishing village only 17km long. Here we stayd in beach bungalows right on the beach front surrounded by a sandy court yard with hammoks, palms and other bungalows. Here we lazied around by the beach and really got ourselves a good tan. Said good bye to MuiNe and headed for Saigon. Wasn't really sure what to expect as it is the capital and obviously another huge busy city. But we were both pleasently surprised and really enjoyed ourselves. Would recommend it. Visited the Chu Chi Tunnels whilst we were there which was really good and found ourselves crawling around under ground in these tiny pitch black tunnels. We were going to shoot some vietnam military guns at a firing range, but when we got there we both didn't think it was such a good idea, and opted to stand next to the guns for a photo instead.
Left for Cambodia today, which was all very exciting, found a nice lakeside bungalow. Really nice and lovely in the evenings as it is all lit up.
Off to the Toul Sleng (S21) museum tomorrow- which is where the Pol Pot Regime executed thousands of Cambodians, and the museum is still how it was all those years ago- untouched. So looking forward to that although it will be very sad- then off to the mass grave yard were the people were all buried.
Well better dash, will right soon, and we promise that photos will be on the site pronto.
Did i forget to mention that were having an AMAZING time!!!
Take Care
Lots of Love
