Hey All,
Just thought I would do a quick update on this while I have some spare time. We are currently in Sharm El Shiekh - Egypt, and is super hot. Was 48degrees our first day here - and we both struggled to get climatised!! Our hotel is really flash, we get all our food and booze/drink included, and has 2 big pools, with bars and shops around them - many people that come here dont leave this place at all! On our first day we decided to go down into Naama Bay - at about 1pm - in the heat of the sun! There was absolutely no one around, except our crazy selves, and we just about melted having to climbe about 50 stairs back up to the hotel. After this, we decided never to go out at that time again!! So anyway, we ended up going snorkelling at Hadaba Bay for the rest of the afternoon, the water was really warm and the fish were amazing. That night we returned to Naama bay - which was now super busy, and booked some trips for the following days!
The following day we went to Cairo, mainly just to see the pyramids. Was only 41 degrees this day so was much better, although still sweating more water out than could drink! We flew over early morning - on a 1960's plane, that was really loud! I was glad when we landed! We went to the Egyptian museum first, then down the Nile on a felluca boat. We had lunch beside the Nile, then went on to a papyrus factory to see how they make there paper for paintings, then they talk evryone into buying something! After this it was onto see the Pyramids - which were amazing!! We went down into 1 as well - through a 1mx1m gap - so rather tiny, and nothing to see at the bottom - and it felt like you were in more of a sauna than outside. Heaps of little egyptian kids trying to force you into buying their trinkets running round outside, we were told to just keep our hands out of there reach - as if they grab you your stuck with buying what they have! After that it was onto see the Spinx, before heading to some markets, then back to the airport for our flight back. Our tour group only had 12 people on it, and the leader spoke amazing english so made it a great day!
The following day we went to Dahab, which is about an 1.5 hour drive north of Sharm. We well and truely slept in, with reception ringing and waking us to see where we were as the leader of the group was there waiting on us. So we managed to get ready in 2minutes flat - and only forgot Pauls sunnys - which wasnt a bad effort! We went in a jeep through the Sinai desert for about 2 hours, a view of sand and rocks, and rubbish! Stopped off at a Bedouin tent for a tea, and to find out how they live (pretty much just with their camels, and following the water around). Then is was on to dahab, where we stopped at the Blue Hole (est 300m deep), coral reef for snorkelling and lunch. Heaps of fish - and the water was cooler than the other bay we had been swimming 2 days earlier! Then it was off on a camel ride - where the saddle really dug in, and the leader though it would be funny to make them run (yelling surprise), i screamed as thought I was going to fall off - not really a fan of horses - or camels now. Then it was onto shopping in dahab - then back to the hotel for a swim.
Today we were meant to be going quad biking in the desert at sunrise, but poor Paul was the first to be hit with food poisoning (hes having a rough time - he got attacked by insects biting him on the first day (they left me alone), sun burnt the second day, and now really sick), so we flagged the biking - and hopefully do it over the next couple of days.
Anyway, i best carry on, and go lay by the pool for a bit, hope all is good with you,
Seeya,
Haylee & Paul
ps, to all of those people who emailed me in the 2 weeks before I left Ediburgh - so sorry I didnt reply - I had absolutely no time, will endeavour to get back to you when I can! Keep in touch.

Joss Hi Haylee, well it seems your holiday has got off to a good start, apart frm Paul being sick and the heat over there sounds to much, it was minus 4 this morning and as I'm writing this it has just hit 0 we will get a beautiful day out of it though cause the sky is blue as and not a cloud in sight. Look forward to hearing more of your tour as you go on. Take care. Joss
