Last writing was from Scotland
Since then the adventures and trips have continued .as we returned to England.
So far- We stayed at a delightful B&B near Winchester, It was on a the river Test and our bedroom looked over this lovely garden and onto the river. The water was clear as a bell and a little family of Ducks has just hatched, we sat at the river and watched the trout play and ducks paddling . Really a delightful place. We also enjoyed a good Pub "The Red Lion".
Jack went to the airshow at Pophamlots of light aircraft. He had a great time there and I enjoyed seeing Winchester.
We then went on a tour of south England as Jack had always wanted to see Devon and Cornwall.
It is all a pretty picture, patchwork of green fields with hedgerows and brilliant yellow meadowseverywhere, Everywhere is gorgeous, with the new spring growth, and glorious vistas, as we drove over hill tops looking at this amazing lush growth everywhere.
We stayed inDorchester, in Dorset, which is Thomas Hardy Country. Could just see the ' Mayor of Casterbridge' there, and Tess of the D'Urbervilles wondering around the moors. It really is "Far from the Madding Crowd."Then on to Lyme Regis where "The French Lieutenants Woman" was set, Couldsee herlooking out from the harbour, waiting for him to return from war.It is avery vibrant tourist area with great galleries, bookshops, restaurants. We could have easily stayed there for a couple of weeks. However onwards to Cornwall.
We went to the Eden Project there. It is hard to describe but itis really inspirational. They have built these magnificenthuge geodosic domes which are hot houses and have made a tropical paradisethere consisting of thousands of plants, and environments with waterfalls. It also hasMediterranean domes too . It is designed to inform us about biodiversity andeverything is educational regarding self sufficiency and the interconnectedness of life on earth. . Built in an old disused quarry, which was a scar on the landscape, They have built this wonderful structure and environmental, part of which is the hugegreenhouses. The surrounding areas is all landscaped with plants from every part of the world. We had a fabulous afternoon there.
Went on to see the Coast, which Cornwall is all about- . Villages, Caravan parks, it is all about families and the beach and cliffs.
Back to London, stopped at Stonehenge becausewe were passing. Good to see the Stones- Thought I should break into a chant as the sun passed midday or something.
We have covered a lot of ground and seen a lot -now on to Ireland -faith and begorra!
