OUCH! Home and in bed by 3am we were both hurting badly when the alarm went off at 7am this morning. But it must be done, ferries and planes to catch to Bangkok. Packing up was hard with a headache and even harder when you'd really not leave your lush linen and comfy bathrobes for hostels and crummy bathrooms.
Ferry to Macau - slept.
Arrived too late in Macau to visit any casinos we headed straight for the airport and checked in, followed by a very random lunch of croissants and pork rice.
Flight from Macau - Bangkok - slept again
Arrival in Bangkok… still exhausted and with roaring hangovers we did what other travelers advised and took the public bus and saved ourselves 100THB. Feeling pleased with ourselves for saving money, until we had to wait 3 hours for the bus to leave the station! After a chilly ride, we arrived in Khao San Road! Compared to Mongkok in Hong Kong, it was mild and chilled… we quickly found Shambara Guesthouse - a little oasis in an alley off Khao San Rd, and dumped our bags. Starving, we headed out and picked up a Pad Thai for THB40 - that's about 80p. It wasn't the best, and I missed the Thai Girder (our local in London) but it was still tasty!
One beer, and half a Chelsea football game (I think they lost?) we were in bed and fast asleep!

Random day in Bangkok… we booked our bus & boat ticket that departs this evening for Koh Tao. So we were just really passing the time…. We took a tuk tuk and our driver Moo promised to show us the sites for 10THB, but instead he showed us a big gold Buddha and then took us to 2 silk & suit shops. Basically if we buy something, he gets petrol coupons - and like Moo says - "you see, we both win"! No… not really Moo!! Anyways a very bleak Moo took us back to Khao San Road and we had a laugh that we were suckered like all the guide books say we would be but at least we got to see a bit of Bangkok…
