What have we done since arriving on Monday? Well, Miami was very cool, loved the Art Deco buildings and nice buzz in the evening. Enjoyed the beach too the next morning for a few hours - although didn't enjoy quite so much the sight of a rather overzealous bronzed man wearing a far too small and inappropriate thong with a lovely pink satin pouch!!! You will see the photo to prove it when we can get some photos uploaded!
Saw a very cute racoon on an Everglades airboat ride on the drive from Miami to Naples and a very bored looking alligator - definitely a trip worth doing!
Chilling out in Naples now before heading off to Peru tomorrow!!

Welcome to America, the land of the free, and where dreams come true! Just as long as you don't mind queuing up for a bit first! Man, the queues! After over an hour getting through immigration and 45 minutes waiting for the dopes at Alamo to serve an ever growing queue of irate tourists, we were finally on the road and heading for South Beach in a rather superb Toyota Yaris. Classy.
Had a really nice meal and a couple of Buds on Ocean Drive - you can't argue that the Yanks certainly do the best steaks!!
After a brief sunbathe on the beach we made tracks for Naples. The signposting left a bit to be desired so an hour later we were figuring out how to get onto the interstate, but soon enough we were speeding Westwards. On National Route 41, a dead straight road many miles long, the conversation went something like this:
James "Shall I see how fast this piece of junk will go?"
Katie "Yeah go on"
Officer Johnson "Sir, I pulled you over today because you were doing 79mph in a 60 zone, would you please step outside the vehicle?"
Thankfully any fines / arrests / body searches were avoided by playing the dumb English tourist, and we were back en route, carefully observing the speed limit!
The airboat ride through the mangroves was cool, and then a nice chilled out evening was spent by the pool!
Off to Peru tomorrow, woo hoo!!!!
