Well, we have come to the end of our Africa trip - been away from home 7 weeks on Friday!!!! Its gone so quick. Africa has been brill, we have found it hard at times but looking back it really was fantastic and will be sad to go :-(
We leave for Thailand tomorrow - got a long flight which with all the stop offs is about 19 hours of travelling so should get to Bangkok around 6.30 pm Fri. Cape Town has been great though and we would def come back, we went up table mountain on our first day with most of the group to watch the sunset - such good views from the top and had our shark dive booked for yesterday, you will all be pleased to know we survived! Lozza you were right, well half right anyway - i did cry (a little) but i got in the cage!! Wasn't nearly as scary as what i thought, the worst bit was actually putting the wet suit on! We saw around 6 great whites, they said the biggest was just over 4 metres (the adults can get to 6.3) either way the ones we saw were f***ing big - they were sooo close to the cage that you could touch (i managed to resist that little urge tho!!!) once Dave got out and us girls were in the cage the shark decided to attack the bait and came at the cage mouth open and bashed into us! Such a good experience tho and i would def do it again. (so thank you very much for my prezzie girlies!)
Last night we met up with Luke and they cooked us fajitas - very nice and today i went to Robben Island whilst Dave chilled - Robben island is an island just off of Cape Town were alot of leaders, not just of Africa were kept - Nelson Mandela was in prison there for 18 years so we got a tour and saw his cell, was good but what made it was when our guide (an ex convict) walked into a metal post and nearly knocked himself out! I was no use at helping him back on his feet but luckily it was near the end of the tour so he didnt have to worry about messing anything up!
Tomorrow is out last day and we are planning on leaving for the airport around 3ish but will probably have a Nando's before we go (there are three along our street!!)
Looking forward to Thailand as meeting up with some friends Rich and Liz - see ya soon!!
