HARRY AND EVON'S JORDAN & AFRICAN SAFARI 2010-2011.
Welcome to our trip journal as we explore Jordan & Africa's east from Cairo to Cape Town.This will be the adventure of our lifetime taking four & a half months. We would love to share this incredible experience with family & friends through our blog site.
We begin our holiday by flying to Amman, Jordan with Emirates on 20.10.2010. On Nov. 1st we pick up our 4WD vehicle in Aqaba & after some practice driving up & down sand dunes in Jordan we head to Egypt.
After 2 weeks in Egypt we drive to the Sudan where we will cross the Sahara & Nubian desert. From about 29th Nov till 13th Dec we will be in Ethiopia.Then on to Kenya till about 3rd Jan 2011. From there to Tanzania & the Serengeti National Park till 17th Jan.
Zanzibar, the island of early slave trade is next where we will be for about a week. Then Malawi till the end of Jan.
Early Feb will take us to Zambia and Victoria Falls. A week later Botswana for a week then Namibia till around the 8th Feb. Lastly we enter South Africa arriving in Cape Town about 15th February. We have booked our flight home for 28th Feb. giving ourselves a few extra days in Sth Africa in case the trip is slowed down due to weather conditions or vehicle problems.
By this time I am sure we will be craving a comfortable bed and a solid roof over our heads after roughing it in a tiny, 2 man tent for 4 months.
