Kate,Denise and I woke at 4.00 am to the sound of pouring rain. Once we were awake we decided to drive on in the dark and rain, or I should say Kate did the early morning drive with Denise as animal on the raod spotter. By the time we reached the NT border the rain had stopped, the sun had started to peep over the horizon and all the cattle were very well behaved on either side of the road.
Breakfast stop at Timber Creek and change of driver to yours truly with the animal spotter sitting in the passenger seat. Quite unexpectedly she announced I could ask her any questions I liked between Timber Creek and Katherine and after that no more questions. Two questions sufficed. Discussions and laughter ensued all the way to Katherine.
Denise was in plenty of time to catch her bus to Darwin for more holidays with another friend.
