We just got home so it has been another very long day but a wonderful time was had by all! We left early to take an elephant ride. There is a Hindu celebration taking place in Jaipur over the next several days so the city is bustling. Although we were early we still had to wait in line for quite awhile but it was a great fun. Several of us explored the Sheraton Rajputana Hotel during our free time this afternoon and discovered a shopping arcade that needs to be visited again! We then were off to the Hindu Temple at 4 pm. We flew into Jaipur early this morning on Jet Airways on a 737. Wake up was 4:45-YIKES!!! Our group went to City Palace which has a textile museum and a weapons museum. Jaipur is famous for textiles-beautiful cottons and brocades. Before visiting the museums we were at the Observatory which has the largest sun dial in the world that is accurate to 2 seconds!! The Maharaja Jai Singh was a gifted astronomer. We are now in our room after having lunch.
