The people of Cambodia are sneaky b******s. First of all, even if they've got a currency of their own (riel), they have all the prizes in U.S. dollars, and that's all you get from ATM's with a foreign card, too. So it's really easy for them to have two prizes for everything. Secondly, they have a lot of children doing the dirty work, as in selling all sorts of things to the tourists. Of course they sell better when they are cute or pitiful, and if you go for what they want, they'll do everything they can to cheat you more money. They have lots of child beggars too. And they're rude, they come hanging on your arm and begging for money, if you try to take your arm back they'll smack you of curse you off. Not very pleasant.
When we arrived we stayed 2 nights in Phnom Penh, but we were lazy and didn't see ouselves around, so I'll write about that ater we return there. In Siem Reap now, around where all the temples are. We had one day seeing all the temples, and that wad too much already. some crazy people buy a ticket for a whole week! it was real expensive too, 20 dollars for a day. But you gotta see Angkor Wat, I guess. Actually I was a bit disappointed my Angkor Wat. It was beautiful and all, but I expected it to really knock me off my feet since you hear so much about it. I much prefered the Ta Prohm (appeared in Tomb Raider, apparently) with it's wilder feel.
Next day we spent on the lakeside, laying in hammocks and swimming. Good and relaxing. After we did a lot of shopping since we/re hitting the islands+beaches soon and I'm not sure if we can do a lot of souvenir shopping there. I also needed a decent looking dress since I'll be attending Amos' brother's wedding later in Israel.
Big delay in these posts again since now that I'm finishing this one up I'm already down by the sea in Sihanoukville, left Phnom Penh behind already too. But I'm too tired and feeling too hot to be able to update everything now, so until next time!
