Hola a todos!
Si, estoy in Quito currently on my 2nd day at the Simon Bolivar Spanish school.
Where to begin? By compaining that no one warned me about the awful standard of food on long-haul flights - i´lkl spare you all the grisley details...but it was not pleasant.
We arrived in Quito on Friday night, about 10pm UK time, and were met by Monika ( the Outreach International rep in Ecuador) and were taken to out host families. I´m staying with la Famila Torre: Fernando, Giusla (sp?) and their 2 daughters, Samantha and Giusla-junior. No, she´s not really called that. There are now 4 other volunteers in the house, Laurn, Piolet Rob (the nickname needs some expaining, but i don´t have time to do that now), Niall and Sze, and all of them are very nice!
Hmm, seem to be running out of time, lessons start in a couple of minutes, so I may have to update you all on the volcanic crater, la museo del sol, balancing an egg on the equator and the spa another time!
