Buddy got here really early on the 12th December so I went to meet him from the airport. That day we chilled out as he was tired from his 26hr flight!!
On the 13th the sun was out so we decided to go to Coogee beach. By the time we got down there it was quite cloudy so Buddy didn't think he needed sun cream and ended up burning all his back, forehead and nose!!
We spent a few days going round the City, seeing the opera house, harbour bridge, had lunch in Darling harbour. Spent quite a bit of time (and money) going round all the shops. We went on a jet boat that goes about 50 mph around Sydney harbour which was fun but we didnt get as wet as we thought we would but did get to see the city and sites from the water which was good.
On the 16th December there was a big carol service in the Domain which is a big park in the city. It was massive there was over 50,000 people there and everyone had red lanterns it was really exciting, finally started feeling Xmasy.
The weather has not been that great, cloudy most days with the occasional rain so when we got a nice sunny day we decided to go to Manly beach which is where all the surfers hang out. We got the ferry over and spent a few hours chilling out, going round the shops etc.
As buddy hadn't seen much Australian wildlife we decided to go to Taronga Zoo, we got the ferry over. It was quite good but beacause we got ther quite late we missed all the interactive shows so he was dissappointed he didn't get to cuddle a Koala or hold a snake!! We did see the main Aussie animals though like Koalas, Kangaroos, Wombats, Crocs, Snakes, Spiders and a Komodo dragon and it was a good location as you could see the opera house and harbour bridge from the zoo!!
Two days after going to the Zoo we all went on a tour to the Blue Mountains. We got picked up at 6.45am which was a bit of a struggle. Our first stop was a wildlife park which we didn't realize we were going to!! It was really good and cheered Buddy up as he got to hold a snake, stroke Koalas and feed Kangaroos!!! It was a really nice park and the weather was gorgeous really hot and sunny.
We then headed up to the lookout point up in the Blue Mountains, the views were breathtaking it was also a bit scary though as there was no rope or anything round the side of the cliff!!
We then headed up to the 3 sisters, still part of the Blue mountains, had a walk around and Buddy got friendly with an aboriginal man with a didgeridoo!! We then had lunch but I wont tell you what it was because I have been told off for constantly writing about food!!!
After lunch we headed to Echo point which is where you can do bushwalks and cable car rides. We rode on the cable car down the mountain (see picture) then went on a walk through the rainforest to the steepest cable train in the southern hemisphere to go back up the mountain, everyone was screeming especially Buddy and Kat!! no i wasn't.
On the way back we had a brief stop at the Olympic Stadium which looked quite impressive but unfortunately we couldnt go in.
It is Xmas eve tommorrow and we are meeting some friends for Drinks on Darling harbour, I probably wont update again untill the new year so have a great Xmas and new year. Lots of Love xxx
