Well firstly, apologies for the complete lack of blog updates over the last 3 weeks! We were on our tour across the states with Intrepid/Suntrek, and some of us (me) didn't befriend anyone with a laptop so didn't have the facilities for blogging. However, we finished the tour a couple of days ago and have been staying in a hostel in Philadelphia, which does have a computer, woo!
So what did we get up to on our tour? Well, it started in San Francisco and it took us 3 weeks to get here, where we are staying for a few nights to save up some spending money for New York, where we will be headed tomorrow! The tour really was amazing though, we did so many cool things I doubt I'll even remember them all. We started out with Yosemite National Park, which is amazingly beautiful and bigger than anywhere you could possibly imagine. We went hiking in the Grand Canyon, which is also completely stunning, and ate pizza on the rim of it whilst watching the sunrise! We've driven through Death Valley and had a guided jeep tour from a Navajo in Monument Valley. We've watched 4th July fireworks over the Mississippi river in New Orleans, walked down the Vegas Strip and Memphis' Beale Street, line danced in Nashville and seen the sights in Washington DC. On our last few days in Philly we've seen the Liberty Bell and the house where the original stars and stripes was made, and walked around most of the city getting lost!
Phew! So there's a little summary of what we've been up to. Whilst we were camping I've been keeping a journal every day of what we've been up to, so when I go home I will copy all that up on here (and sneakily backdate it!) to give a really comprehensive report of what we've been doing. I'm hoping to print this journal into a book sometime to remind myself of everything we've been up to!
So tomorrow morning we leave for New York on a nice short 2-hour Greyhound bus journey. We've got 5 nights there, where we're planning to go on a cruise to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, see a Broadway show for Emma's birthday on Saturday and just generally do a lot of shopping! Will be nice to see New York in the summer as I went a couple of years ago for New Year and it was freeeezing! I will be glad for the lack of rudolph nose, even if I probably replace it with sunburn!
And after that it will be hometime. Emma and myself are flying at 9.30pm on Monday, getting into Heathrow at 9.30am on Tuesday. Less than a week left! Hope this has made up for my absence, and hopefully see lots of you very soon!

Christine C Nice well-rounded summary of your trip across the States! Did you enjoy the camping? I hope you have a great time in NYC and a peaceful flight (no turbulence and no screaming baby!) back to old Europe ...
