I'm doing great & have been loving LOVING my trip so far! I am done my tour and have been for about a week and a half. Cambodia was great, it was actually newer or more modern than Vietnam and even though the people were nice, Vietnams people were so great. I think I have a soft spot for Vietnam, maybe cause it was the 1st place I went too... In Cambodia I went to Phnom Phen 1st and went to the Genocide Museum & Killing fields, it's hard to believe something like could have happen not every long ago & with out consequence. It was very sad as you can imagine & I didn't take hardly any pictures. But Siem Riep on the other hand was captavating! I loved the temples, they were everything I thought they'd be and more, incredible!
I came to Bangkok and left the next morning for Koh Chang Island, 9 hrs south, to get some R&R. BUt there's always so much to do, I just couldn't stop! I met some of the coolest - sweetest people on my way there, it's true that even though your traveling alone, you really aren't ever alone. I motor biked around the whole island and saw every water fall there was to see, that took a couple days. I spent my 1st couple days in Whitesands and then moved to Lonely Beach, Lonely beach was full of people my age from all over. I went on a island hopping - snorkelling tour around 4 other islands with my new friends. Unfortunately I was messing around with my camera yesterday and I erased ALL my pictures!! :o( Thankfully I made a cd when I left Cambodia so it's only the Bangkok & Koh Chang pictures but it's still sad, I'll see if I can get some pics from the friends I met & I guess I'll just have to go to other beaches and do the same thing so i can get the pics again :o)
Yesterday I left for Kanchanaburi, a couple hours west of Bangkok so that I could go to Erwan National Park. Charlotte and Sofie (a couple Swedish girls I met on the island) were heading there to see a 7 tier waterfall, so I jumped on the band wagon! It was one of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen with big pools under each fall that you could swim in and there was tons of fish. The fish would actually bite your toes so we didn't stay to long in the water, Ekk! We're not fish food!
Now I'm back in Bangkok again! But hopefully not for long, just long enough to sort out the next leg of my trip. I'm hoping it'll go something like this: Travel northern Thailand 1st, then I'll go to Laos for a week-ish and then fly to Handan in China were I'll spent Christmas with a old friend of mine, and then fly to Puket in Thailand, travel southern Thailand and the beaches and then we'll see... I'm not sure if I'll be flying, busing or training it...
Thanks to everyone that posted messages whether you meant to or not (mom ;o) And thanks for the e-mails and your thoughts. I miss everyone lots! And even though I'm loving it here I can't wait to give you guys a hug!
