Right now I am currently sat on the train, leaving Rome and heading to Venice. Our time in Rome has been lovely and this morning I felt a bit sad about leaving the city,as I finally felt I had got my bearings.
Yesterday we had gotten up early to tour round some of the churches of Rome, ending up in the churches of all churches St Peters. Luckily for us our tour guy seemed very head screwed on and niffy, as he knew all the right routes to take and when to head to places, thankfully meaning we didn't have to que for long. Even though our tour did not start on the best foot as he was slagging Christians off and at time seemed to be unsure of what was happening it worked out to be really good.
When we got to St Peters the mass amount of people was breathtaking, there was so many people and brides waiting to see a glimpse of the pope. Then all of a sudden we could make out a man dressed in white walking down steps and the crowd started to cheer.
While we where there we walked around the place and did the museum. Finally we got to the area where one of the most famous calling paintings Michelangelo did. After seeing this and the work he had done in the other church's shows how amazing and skilful he was not just back then but now. Some of the pictures were so good and looked almost 3d. His art can only be described as wonderful and breath taking.
To end the night we came back to the hostel and went across the road to the bar, filling ourselves with burger and chips which were very welcome after a long day of walking.
