Today we walked around Pietra Ligure and Lily and I played in a nearby park. We bought some food from the local stores and had a picnic lunch on the beach. The Italian Riviera is rocky. It is different from the beaches on the French Riviera because it has rocks and the sand is darker. For lunch we had rolls with cheese and ham. I also had a meringue from the local bakery. The place we are staying at is unique. Mine and Lily's beds fold out from 2 separate cupboards in the wall. Mum and Dad's bed folds out from a sofa. The room is small but comfortable. It has a bathroom and a kitchen. It is clean and warm. The owners are Italian and they are very friendly. They give us special treats from the bar. We had a lovely dinner last night at a restaurant down the road. It was very cheap. I shared Calzone - a folded up pizza, seafood pasta and ravioli. We met a 4 year old called Greta , she was the daughter of the owner. Dad spoke to her very well because he knows some Italian. We bought her a little present today. We plan to give it to her before we leave Pietra Ligure.
