We were hoping for a chilled out time the next day and relax a little but that isn't quite how it worked out. We got on the bus for an early start and we were told that the weather was changing so they were bringing our skydive forward and we would be doing it todaY! Ekk. We weren't expecting that. First we had a long drive to do. We went to Lake Matheson which is also known as 'irror lake' as you can see a perfect reflection of Mt Cook in the water. We took a few hours to walk around the lake and the view was stunning. It was so beautiful and the reflection really was perfect. We also stopped at a waterfall and if you stared at a certain part of it for 20 seconds then looked to the trees and rocks next to it they appeared to be moving and wiggling. It was quiet strange. The views along the drive were pretty amazing and we stopped a few times for that kodak moment. Then the time was upon us and we dumped our bags at the hostel and were wisked off to the airport. We both decided to jump out of the plane from 15000 feet which meant we had a 60 second freefall before the parachute was opened. Once again we were easily entertained by the jumpsuit that we had to wear and then we had to wait as we were in the second jump group with Sarah and Shelly. I was feeling pretty nervous when in the plane which took about 0/15 min to reach its height. I became partticularly nervous when Sjhelly and Sarah jumped at 12000 feet and we just kept getting higher. Louise was next out and then I followed. The first few seconds when we sat on the edge of the plane with legs dangling were scary!! So was the initial part when we tumbled out and I screamed! A lot! Then it was just amazing, absolutely breath taking. The fall was so surreal but the view was so so beautiful I can't even describe it. We could see both Lake Wanaka and Laka Hawea with the surrounding mountain ranges of Mt Cook and Mt Aspiring. It was the most unbelieveable feeling and rush of excitement. When the parachute popped out (it was fuschia if you were wondering) I just admired the views.
The next stop was Queenstown. We stopped at puzzling world on the way which was grewat fun. Me and Lou were excited about going here after seeing friends photos already. We were first off the bus and into the first room before anyone else had moved. The rooms were full of illusions. The first was lots of pictures on the walls and you had to move up, down or sidewys to see the picture take its shape. It was very clever. Then there was a room full of concoved heads which followed you whichever you moved. It was a little freaky almost. Next was the slanted room where the floor was at an angle and was very funny and difficult to walk in. There were a few gravity tricks in here. The final room was a big empty room and looking through the windows the room was normal. But once inside one end was low roofed and the other high roofed so you either looked like a giant or a midget. At this point we didn't realise that you were filmed and others could see when the tape was played back a few minutes later. Luckily only we saw what idiots we had been posing for photos. We also saw lots of cool photos and drawings all based on optical illusions. Finally we went to the maze outside. What chance did we stand?! Your suppossed to find all four corners but it took us that long to just find one that we cheated and took the emergency exit when we could find it!
