Hello again!
So since my last blog, we stayed in Hoi An for a couple of days it was lovely to stay in a hotel for 3 days and not have to pack up our things and be on the move for a while. We hired bikes and went to the beach on Saturday, it was boiling and I got my legs burnt badly! We went to Before & Now again for dinner it was yum and walked down to the Japanese Bridge with all the lanterns and got freshly made doughnuts off a stall. Oh and I forgot to mention about the little critter that got into our room on the last night, something flew at my head while I was in bed and bounched onto Grant, we threw back the covers thinking it was a moth (which Grant hates) we were armed with paper etc, I pulled back the cover only to find it was a GIANT cockroach!!! Ahhhh. It was crawling on my clothes, luckily Grant managed to hit hard with a paper, and the cockroach was no more. We booked a trip to My Son for the next day, so we got up at 7am for our trip to My Son temples only to find it was absolutely pissing it down! We didn't even want to get off the bus at one stage, we were drenched all day! We originally planned to get the bus back but the tour guide made us change to the boat, so picture us, drenched, in our rain macs, sitting on a boat with no windows head first into the wind and rain!!!
We decided to head to Nha Trang the next day on a night bus which took around 12 hours from 6pm - 6am. The night bus was an experience in itself! Grant was sat next to this Vietnamese man who decided it was okay to sneeze on him and play music loudly on his phone all night! The bus pulled up in the middle of nowhere, pitch black by the side of the road and this was were we had to go to the toilet, once in 12 hours!
We arrived in Nha Trang at around 5am, the sun was beginning to rise on the beach front and Vietnamese people were doing Yoga and all sorts of exercise at this crazy time! I wonder if they actually sleep, because they're up til late and then up really early again. We managed to check ourselves into a hotel again from the guidebook. Nha Trang is like a beach resort, really developed and not what we were expecting, we decided to only stay for one night as we wanted to get to Da Lat and onto the Cat Tien National Park. We visited the White Buddha and The Pagoda in Nha Trang which were free but some cheeky person tried to make us believe we had to pay! Then we had an indian set meal for 240,000 last night around 8-9 quid! It was nice I stuck to Paneer as some of the meat looks strange. Then around 11 last night Grant woke me up because of some noise in our room, sounded like scratching, we spent ages trying to hunt where the noise was coming from, and finally a little gecko popped his head out from behind a mirror. Felt a bit unnerving sleeping with him there but he did us no harm. We got a bus this morning to Da Lat, the bus journey was amazing we were driving through, up and over the mountains. So now we're sitting in Hoa Binh hotel in Da Lat, about to head out to explore and try and book a trip to Cat Tien!
