Hannah's Great Adventure
San Pedro de Atacama is awesome and I've finally found where all the travelers have been hiding. San Pedro is a really small village in the middle of the desert with a huge volcano in the distance. The lava left by the volcano when it last erupted (hundreds of years ago), created fertile land which the village grew upon. It's amazing. During the day it's so hot then as soon as the sun sets it's freezing. The volcano is covered in snow and the contrast between that, the blue sky and the yellow of the sand is beautiful. I really wish somebody could be here to share the experience.
The guest house is made up of a handful of little mud huts, the colour of the sand, arranged around a courtyard. My hut is just big enough to fit a little bed and a tiny bed side table, I have my own front door and everything - I love it! Although I'm back to cold showers - joy!
Tomorrow I'm going to visit the Valley of the Moon and go sand boarding. Very excited. Then on Tuesday I'm planning to join a 3 day tour of the Salars and Lagares (Salt fields and lakes) before being left in Uyuni, Bolivia.
Until next time, adios x
