Another massive update overdue...
After leaving Hervey Bay we had to spend a night in Rainbow Beach, we didnt get to see it though because we got there late and had an early coach journey the next morning! Apparently there isn't alot there to do anyway!
We then travelled to Brisbane. On the first day we were looking for jobs but had little luck; only being offered topless bar work in a place called just hooters (no thankyou!). That night we caught up with our friend Phil from Cairns and he took us around the sights!
The next day Emily, Alec, Pat and Danny joined us from Noosa and we spent the day shopping. That night we went to a club underneath our hostel and danced ALL night. We also witnessed a very graphic wet t-shirt competition...to which Hannah did point out; "Shouldn't she have been disqualified from the wet t-shirt competition as she took her top off!"
Our last day in Brisbane we went to the Koala sanctuary and held a Koala...his name was Axel...a very rock n roll koala bear! That night we went to a place called Kangaroo point where you could watch the city by night!
After Brisbane we went to Surfers Paradise. There we met up with Trent, Mason and Josh who we used to work with at Bhs and they showed us around their home city! Surfers Paradise was great. On the Saturday we went to Wet n Wild a waterpark. It was a huge place.
Our last day in Brisbane we spent at the beach with Sam, Kelly and Kirstie and Rich and Dave from Fraser. The waves were massive, really powerful, completely submerged me!
After Surfers we arrived in Byron (which is where we are now!) We have got jobs working as Touts and are hoping this will pay for our impending trip to Fiji we are now planning! Byron Bay is a great town, very Bohemian! Alot of people here who are clearly not just high on life.
Since we've been here we have had an early birthday party for Emily (we were very sad to say the first of our Goodbyes to her!) We then celebrated St Patrick's Day at Cheeky Monkeys (A very messy night!). This was our last night with Alec, Pat and Danny before they headed to Sydney. We've had a couple of quiet nights in as well!
We also woke up really early to watch the sunrise from the lighthouse (Hannah has been wanting to watch the sunrise for the last 7 weeks-and we have finally managed it!). Rich and Dave drove us all up there...6 girls in the back of their campervan, Bacardi! The sunrise was beautiful. We then had to say more Goodbyes to the boys and then the Bristol Girls the next day.
We are planning to be in Byron until the 31st before heading to Surf Camp!
Much Love,
K & H
