G'day everyone (sorry, compulsory oz references will probably be abundant in the next few posts! Our friend Sam has been teaching us all the lingo) Soory, i've been really bad at updating this! I need to write all about New Zealand since Franz Josef, and the whole of Australia, so i'll get on to that really soon (probably once i'm back at home considering my track record..!)- but just quickly, it was incredible. We had a fantastic time in the campervan. soaking up all the breathtaking views, exploring the nz towns and beaches on the north island, and doing some of the ultimate nz things that we wanted to tick off our list (Tongariro Crossing, sky diving, seeing the Rotorua hotpools etc included). Since I last wrote, we've ventured all around the rest of the south island being very road happy. The north island we did in 12 or so days - and we got lost in lots of little lovely towns, walked to incredible waterfalls and in glowworm caves and got the campervan messier and more disgusting than we thought possible! Australia has been so sunny and laid back, we had such a good time in Sydney, and then travelling up the east coast (stopping at Noosa, Fraser Island and Rainbow Beach and Town 1770) to Cairns, where i'm writing from. We've driven our beloved Jucy campervan (and i managed to get it stuck in thick mud on a campsite, so much so that a farmer and his tractor had to come and turf us out!), 4x4s along the beaches of Fraser Island, and Choppers around Town 1770 and Agnes Water, wearing our biker leathers and passing kangaroos..! Anyway I will write about all those adventures another time.
At the moment, I am in Cairns and Han is flying somewhere over the Gold Coast on her way to Sydney, which is very sad. Her epic journey across the rest of the world is Cairns-Sydney-Tokyo-London and is going to take about 34 hours. I am staying in Cairns for one more night before flying off Cairns-Sydney-Bangkok tomorrow morning. I'm nervous about Thailand at the moment, but also really excited about what i'll see, eat and get up to in the next couple of weeks. The plan is to stay in Khao San Road in Bangkok for three days before my ThaIntro week starts, travelling from Bangkok down to Ko Samui. :) It should be an adventure, and hopefully not a lonely one now that Han has left! At the moment i'm pining for her, it's very odd to be apart after about 3 months of permanent attachment-at-the-hip! We've had a great relaxing couple of days in Cairns lazing by the lagoon in the sun and shopping around the city and eating lots, as usual.
My internet is about to run out now so I will have to try and update this in a few days once i'm touched down in Bangkok and Han has seen p'town again! I am planning on getting a flight home early August now, it all depnds how Thailand goes! Lots of love and hope everything is going well back at home. xxx.
