In the absence of any photos from your blog, have just been checking up on where you've been. Pondicherry looks great- hope you saw some decorated cows! Seems you've got heavy rain to view the palace in Mysore by, but wow! does it look fantastic!

Ps. I want sari silk too.
Please.

Yo slap. It's been raining here for about 4736 days. I would complain about being wet every time I walk out the door, but with 90% humidity (ha ha, spoiled a fact on your next blog), I guess you are pretty much dripping with sweat so also uncomfortably wet.
At least rain doesn't smell. xxx

Katie, sounds amazing- your descriptions are beautiful and I am soooo jealous!
I am going home for Easter tomorrow, should be nice. Had a massive German presentation today with Clare but it went really well so am relieved.
Miss you- bring me back some sari silk- it sounds amazing!

Terrific description of India so far Katie. Have you thought of being a travel writer? (I remember you once thought of journalism for a career) Have looked in encyclopaedia, but it didn't say when the banana tree dies. Obviously there have been doubts cast about your description. The mystery goes on.......Thanks for PC.I too visited the Waitomo caves, but travelled through very sedately in a boat, but I don't think we were given the option of wet suits. xx

There are some banana trees in the Centre at Milton Keynes. Last time we were there, they had fruit on them. Must dash back to see if they have died...

Great blog, Katie: it's both vivid and atmospheric. Puzzled about the bananas - there must be an awful lot of dead banana trees around! India seems fantastic - not sure about the driving. Good for morale though - no failed driving tests! The communications are hugely appreciated - mostly applications of physics, of course! xxx

Hi Katie.
Just been reading your entire blog, most of it in one go. It's truely ace. Glad your having a great time. Michael.

Some of us, Eleanor, are working hard saving lives in the poor excuse for a health service we call the NHS and cannot spend all day on the internet and meeting international friends for drinks and giggles....
However, I have just read Katie's blogs (which are entertaining and jealousy making as always) and the message board. I am delighted to hear that Katie will be in the UK for my birthday and will have to insist that she comes to Leeds for a big party (and you Warl and you Matt) and I will pay any train (make that coach...I am a tight face) fares needed plus supply two bottles of wine in the price.
Secondly I must thank Katie for the postcard - brightened up my day no end. I have been working 10 days in a row now and have two more to go - that's 121 hours in 12 days. I have also had to write a presentation, apply for my jobs for next year and was obliged to get very drunk on Friday night meaning I only got 4 hours sleep before I had to be back at work on Saturday morning. Joy!
Seriously, Katie I will pay for you to come up on my birthday. Also, Warl, I am in the process of form filling for the glasto thing, if it is to late let me know. As you can see from the above rant I have been crazy busy lately.
Love to you all, Katie especially and I can't wait to see you all soon. x x x x
