It has been a couple days now back in the states, and man do I miss Ireland! I love being home, but now and then I think of that feeling I had in Ireland I wish I were back there.
Like I have said multiple times, this experience has truly changed my life. I threw myself into a pool of new people, hoping to come out happy and alive. I was the essence of a social butterfly, flying around from friend to friend and place to place with nothing but my own wings. I learned so much about how to adapt in a new culture, travel on my own, and find my way around a new place. I proved it to myself that I can jump any boundary, and now that I got a taste of traveling to a new place on my own... I want nothing more then to continue my worldly travels!
Now the future lies ahead. I know what I am good at and what I enjoy. Narrowing down life's opportunities is the hardest part. I am walking into my senior year, and summer is coming to a close. This year I am going to live it up with my friends and family, along with finding out what I want to do after graduation.
I miss you girls from CEA and all the friends I made in Ireland! Here is the song Galway Girl by Earle Steve, which was my song throughout the trip!
Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
I met a little girl and we stopped to talk
Of a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
And I knew right then I'd be takin' a whirl
'Round the Salthill Prom with a Galway girl
We were halfway there when the rain came down
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
And she asked me up to her flat downtown
Of a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
So I took her hand and I gave her a twirl
And I lost my heart to a Galway girl
When I woke up I was all alone
With a broken heart and a ticket home
And I ask you now, tell me what would you do
If her hair was black and her eyes were blue
I've traveled around I've been all over this world
Boys I ain't never seen nothin' like a Galway girl
