On the drive North out of Phoenix, we stopped at Montezuma's Castle NM for lunch. Then we continued on to Flagstaff where we went to at least 8 gas stations in an attempt to fill up our propane tank. Unfortunately it's not something we're allowed to fill up ourselves so either the place wasn't open, only one employee was working, or the employees weren't 'certified' to use their equipment. The last place on our way out of town was finally able to help us. With all the delays we weren't able to make it to Wupatki NM before they closed so we camped just North of Flagstaff. Then in the morning we got up and left too early to get to Wupatki too! Not meant to be. We stopped and hiked to the famed Horseshoe Bend in the Colorado River and then went swimming, cleaned off, and jumped off cliffs into the perfect temperature water of Lake Powell. And then we entered state #10 - Utah! The next major stop was Zion NP. Our RV had to be measured and just BARELY met the width requirement through the tunnel without having to stop traffic and pay an extra $15. We set up camp at their South Campground and hopped on the shuttle bus to the canyon. At the far end we hopped off and began the Narrows canyon hike. After a mile of paved path the trail continued up canyon/river. We hiked for a while through the canyon, mostly in water, which at one point was chest-deep. The canyon was spectacular! We planned to get up early this morning and do a hike, but we didn't hear the alarm so I guess the hike will be saved for tue next time we're in Zion. We're currently driving North on I-15 headed toward a Jiffy Lube and grocery store in Cedar City and then off to Nevada.
