After touring Boulder, a nice town nestled right against the mountains, we headed to Denver for a two night stay with Steve. Mike flew in Monday night to join in on the fun.
For Tuesday Steve had put together a rather ambitious 20 mile, 8 brewery bike tour route. Around noon the four of us headed out on bikes for the day's adventure. Breweries/Bars visited in order: Bull and Bush, Renegade, Strange, Great Divide, Wynkoop, Brekenridge, Hops and Pies, Ale House.
The tour was a blast and a fantastic way to check out Denver. Bike lanes and paths were plentiful and remarkably nothing bad happened, not even a flat tire. We kept it to about a pint at each location, except Great Divide where we sampled all 17 of their beers on tap! All the breweries offered great beer and ranged from one barrel operations that only serve locally to national distributers.
The gang finally made it back to the home base around 11 and chilled in the backyard with a fire and fireworks. The night ended with a firework related encounter with the local law enforcement, the sign of a good day!
