Tales of the Travelling Princess
Well, another year under my belt in the Alps and not another year wiser. I am still a workoholic and I am still unable to stop the chocolate addiction. I have started smoking heavily to stop the sugar cravings. This worked well for two days but today I not only managed to have a Terry's Chocolate Orange but managed to smoke more in one day than I have the two days previous put together. Go figure?
The Glasgow Girls have just left after an exciting short stay in my studio apartment/European office headquarters. We laughed, we gossiped, we took photos and left on nostalgic terms. At least I had a hint of nostalgia and was left with the question - how will anyone ever get to know me/keep up with my new lives if I insist on dodging the responsibilities of communication with loved ones?
A wise man once said to me once that you can only live your life through other people. Hell, I know a lot of people after 35 years (in workaholic year's) and therefore I have lived many lives. My past three years' worth of lives was recorded in a lovely brown, leatherbound (Italian?) diary which is now safely in the hands of the Lost Baggage Gods. I must therefore learn from this and record my tears and laughter in a place that baggage handlers can't touch.
I am in a happy place (bar the actual job itself) and can't even begin to describe how this shiny white tiara in the Alps makes me love life. Doesn't make me love work and tourists but Les Gets wakes up the butterflies in my stomach and sends them into line dancing/bungee jumping every time I look out the window or drive along the valley. I will be sad to whisper goodbye in April but I'll be back.
