This morning was our last in D.C, a politically minded posse set out for an early morning tour of Capitol, whilst a splinter group went for breakfast in a Diner instead.
Capitol was very interesting, and pretty informative. It started with a video extolling the virtues of the US system and was followed by a tour of some of the key areas and sights, including of course the Dome. Had a very pleasant trip to their restaurant, was unconfirmed whether Obama has ever eaten there or sat in our seats though. Noah has written to the President too, will report back when he gets reply.
Also went to the Library of Congress, the largest library in the world apparently so was sure to have my whole back catalogue in stock although did not have time to check.
Picked up car at Union Station and bade farewell to our lovely hosts, before setting off to see Martin E Silfen in Virginia Beach. I haven't seen Marty for over 10 years so really looking forward to seeing him. We are at present however stuck in the worst traffic jam I have ever seen, somewhere in Virginia on Interstate 95 so who knows when we will arrive. We have three nights with Marty before we take Keir to UNC on Monday.
