I just had the most phenomenal weekend of my life!I went with a group of people to Interlaken, Switzerland. There were 18 of us.Marisa, Katie Viscelli, Alexa Votsis, Mahsa, Taylor, Jake, Pete, Jeff, Jeremy, Story, Oliver, Beranato, Steve-O, Keith, and Todd.Katie and Alexa are ADPis, Mahsa and Taylor are Zetas, and all the other boys are TKEs.I hadn't met any of the boys before we went to get on the plane, but they were all really great! They were sooo funny. When we got to Interlaken on Thursday after 2 trains, a plane, another train, and 15 minute walk.We were exhausted and starving so we went to Hooters for dinner (where we were served my a male waiter!)
Friday morning we got up super early and got started on all of our crazy adventures.Alexa and I were the only 2 people on the trip that decided not to go skydiving, so we went canyoning in the morning instead!Canyoning was awesome!!!!First they picked us up at the hostel and took us to the tents to get suited up? after we got our wet suits on they drove us to the top of the mountain. Then we had to climb for about 15 minutes to get to the starting point of the canyon.Once we got into the water they told us to work our way down the canyon by climbing, jumping, repelling, and sliding.I jumped off 25ft waterfall and repelled down a 60ft rock wall!!It was hardcore! After canyoning Alexa and I rented bikes and rode around Interlaken. We rode down to the Red Bull Air Race and watched that for a while.I had such a great day hanging out with Alexa! That night we made spaghetti and went to the club downstairs.
Saturday morning I went hang gliding! We rode up to the top of the mountain for 15 minutes, then my tandem guy built the glider. He hooked my harness to the glider and we stood on the side of the mountain. He told me, on the count of 3, to run!I RAN OFF THE SIDE OF A MOUNTAIN!It was amazing! It took my breath away a little, but it wasn't too scary. It was the most peaceful thing I have ever done? really unbelievable. The pictures really don't do it justice. We were surrounded by mountains and there were 2 lakes under us and the whole city.It was beautiful.I couldn't have asked for a better view.Once I got back from hang gliding, I hung out at the hostel.Balmers hostel had a relaxation room, it was basically a big porch room with tons of hammocks. It was also called the "Hangover Recovery room".After I went hang gliding on Saturday I spent hours in there reading, praying, journaling, and sleeping. It was glorious!A hammock will be the first thing I put in my backyard when I get my own house. At 4:30 a group of us went white water rafting!!I had never done it before and I was actually really nervous, but it was awesome! Our guide, D, was really good and no one fell out of the raft. That night we went dancing in the club again!
Sunday morning we rented scooters!I was too scared to drive one on my own, so I rode on the back of Jake's!We rode up to a lake and went swimming? it was lots of fun! Then we went to the train station to catch the train to the airport. At the train station I realized that I didn't have my WALLET!! I left it at the hostel!I freaked out a little, then ran back to the hostel.(Marisa went ahead of me so that she wouldn't miss the flight).I actually found my wallet, ran back to the train, and MADE MY FLIGHT!I couldn't believe it!Lots of prayers were answered!
Basically, Interlaken was the most amazing place I have ever been in my life!I had a great time with all of my adventures and meeting all these new people!I learned so much about how adventurous I am!I have turned into an outdoorsy girl! Now I have a whole list of stuff that I want to do in Georgia when I get home.I haven't been taking advantage of all the cool stuff we have around us.I would love to go to Stone Mountain and climb it.. I haven't done that since I was little. Also, they have canoes and kayaks there!! (can't forget the laser show!)And I want to go rafting again, and go to the North Georgia Mountains, and up in a hot air balloon, and go to the park all the time. So? basically I want to be outside all the time!I LOVED this weekend!
