Come with me on a journey through time and space
DAY 15 - QUEENSTOWN TO LAKE OHAU
good start to the day, locked out of the room and i have a nosebleed. which is nice. i come very close to vomiting by the bus when i take the bags out to the coach. we have this morning to do as we please until we leave for lake ohau at 1.30.
i spend a few minutes on the internet, say goodbye to paul and joanne who are also leaving today for a few days in fiji, before meeting up with neil, kate, kevin and laurel for a spot of brekkie at you guessed it fergburger. laurel and kevin go to pick up thier rental car for their travels to see some rock and trip to christchurch for their flight home. i settle for chips at fergburger, but can barely eat any of them. neil and i go off shopping for clothes, saves having to wash any more and we leave the others map in hand to venture on their own. byyyeeee
shopping was poor, anything i liked they didnt have in my size. a few hours of walking round in a bit of a daze we head to the coach and catch up with the remainder of the tour folk. a few poeple had a far more active day doing bungy jumps and things. we drive out along the kawarau river through some more lord of the rings scenery and stop at home of aj hackett's original bungy site, the first commercial bungy in the world. i enjoy a nice hot dog, and feel a lot better for it.
onward through the cromwell district where we stop at some dodgy fruit stall, advertising to be the greatest and famous fruit seller in the world, yeah right. i buy an ice cream. we continue our journey over the lindis pass our home for tonight is nestled into the hills on the shores of lake ohau. our lodge has the most amazing views again looking out over the lake to mt cook amoungst the nearby mountains.
it is our last official night of the tour so we decide to have a toga party. dinner and a few drinks first followed by a game of table tennis, windslow explains how the rules are the same as beach volleyball, we disaggree. after losing badley at double i stick to games i am more familiar with, darts and pool. we enjoy some dinner sat our on the deck overlooking the lake before getting prepped up in our toga outfits. basic but fun. mandy accessorises her outfit with what looks like a orange net curtain. which is nice. nick has another early night due to stomach issues. a number of drinks and stupid conversations throughout the evening with such questions asked as have you ever open mouth kissed a horse, thankfully no one admitted to that, although some did take some time to think about it. hhhmmmm
oh weird guy outside wants to skin a possum?????
