Day one - it's all about the flights
Well after my overnight packing and hotel booking, i was ready passport in hand. thankfully i didn't have to worry about driving to the airport, got picked up from home just before 7am. im shattered already, not a good start and i never can sleep on planes, oh well. the flight was delayed by over an hour, and it was a typically boring flight, catched a couple of movies, nothing of note and enjoyed a couple of beverages and spent an age trying to work out how to change the time on my watch before having to go through the joys of us customs. after they had taken finger prints and photos i could finally get going on my holiday. 27 degrees celcius not a bad start.
by the time i got to my hotel it was getting dark. i was staying at the sheraton studio city hotel on international drive, a movie themed hotel. the room was pretty good, a fair size. i soon realized that us tv is crap.
i went to 7/eleven to get a snack and had a little look at the crazy golf course that had an aligator pen, there were about a dozen of them all quite small. i stared at them for a while as they were very still, just wanted to make sure they were real and not plastic. 15 minutes later i gave up, not one of them even blinked. i spent the rest of the evening at the poolside bar drinking weak lager, and it was still baking hot, the weather not the lager. quite an early night tonight, i was feeling quite shattered, besides i wanted to get up early for universal studios. The only decision now is to decide which of the 2 huge beds to crash in tonight.
