Bellingham day 3
Exhausted from all our travelling we took advantage of our comfortable surroundings and lounged around the Elaines granny flat until ten o'clock, when we finally made our way across the front lawn to the main house.
Elaine had made an early morning trek to the local fresh doughnut shop. So with a mug of hot coffee in our hands we deliberated over which flavour to try. Chocolate, plain, custard filled, maple icing, sprinkles….. etc.
After a deliciously sticky breakfast we stepped up into Terrys monster Dodge and headed downtown to hit the end of season ski sales. Dave was still in search of a new ski jacket and had promised a friend that he would keep an eye out for a Gro Pro Hero 2. He found what he was looking for in REI and with the strong exchange rate it was significantly cheaper than in France. Dave wasn't lucky enough to find a jacket he liked, but I did.
We attacked a few more shops before stopping to treat our fantastic hosts to a sticky lunch of ribs, coconut coated prawns and yet more local beer. Armed with four spoons we also attacked a portion of the recommended cream topped peanut and chocolate pie for dessert.
To burn off the calories from lunch we embarked on another round of shopping to stock up on food for the RV, contributions towards the evening meal and presents for everyone at home.
We soaked up the wine and fantastic views of the lake during a stunning halibut dinner.
