Ian & A-V On The Move
Had a lovely walk at the other side of the marsh and a drive through the quaint village of Ile de Fedrum. Lunch was a picnic on a tiny pontoon on the Canal de Tignac. In the afternoon a fascinating trip to St Nazaire and the submarine pens. Amazing scale of fortification very imaginatively turned into a tourist attraction. On top they had created gardens with about 4ins of soil but irrigation channels and a photographic display and actually in some of the 14pens they have created a sort of mock up of the liners Normandie and France which were built in St Nazaire. Really, really well done.
It is Jen's birthday today so we went out to the local restaurant for a meal of local dishes. Excellent
also saw a U Boat.
