- 25th February 2012
Hello! hope we are all well. been busy the past few weeks with work and gym etc! settling into nz life thats for sure. The weekend of 10-12th of feb was when the garnock boys went on tour, so graeme was sad to be missing that and i was also missing a hen weekend and the rugby girls weekend away so we were missing home a bit this weekend! however graeme made them a video which was pretty funny and i managed to skype the girls a few times so that was fun! We went out for dinner on the saturday night then just went a run on the sunday. We also went to a Scottish festival on the sunday but it wasnt too exciting! was kind of like a bagpipe competition and find out what tartan you were etc!
We had a very romanic valentines night consisting of graeme goin to rugby training and me doing my run around the park! Just been doing the usual rugby, choir, the gym and we have started having a wee coffee night on fridays going into Riccarton! I went out for a drink with people from work one night so that was good.
Then the weekend of 18-19th feb, on the saturday we went to new brighton in the morning - it was a gorgeous day! If you look at the photos the ones on the beach and the long peir are new brighton. had breakfast at a wee cafe along the front and chilled for a bit which was pretty good! Then in the afternoon we went to watch the crusaders development team play wellington team at rugby. Graeme knew a few of the guys as they are from the club he has joined so that was cool. He found ot that the guy who plays his position (hooker) for Sydenham, graemes team, is also in the crusaders and also plays for new zealand under 20s! he was pretty fast and Graeme starting to think he may not get a game with the 1sts if thats his competition! But he will no doubt try! It was a nice day all day - so sunny! On the sunday we did a 1-k run along Sumner Esplanade, it was pouring but we were pretty glad it wasnt as warm as the day before! graeme did it in 46 mins and i was 64 mins so not too bad! got us preparing for the half marathon! then sunday afternoon we went to a travel expo that was on and got a few brochures on different trips and stuff for the way home so think we have a massive pile of reading to do!
Then this week just back to working again. My jobs going good, getting more calls through now as we were only getting about 7 a day but a lot busier! go back into training end of march so that should be fun! graemes still liking his work, think he is moving onto a different building this week to demolish! Oh it was the one year anniversary of the big earthquake on wednesday and it was so sad. there was 2 minute silence and a big memorial service at hagley park, something like over 20 000 people turned up! was a tough day!
We have applied for season tickets for the crusaders so tht should be good.mmmm dan carter..... its pretty good cos they play either saturday night or sunday aft so we wont be working or graeme wont be playing rugby himself. also aiming for the half marathon in june so that wil be good!So we have been away from home 6 months now which is scary as time seems to have just flown in! Hoping to get over to australia at some point, depending on our holidays at work! and sister Fi is coming out in June so that will be awesome! there is a spare room for anyone else who wants to visit!
