Graeme round the world
Day 50 Sat 13th May - Up early as only have a few hours to do a quick fire city tour of Christchurch before going to the airport. It was freezing, literally, as winter has just begun, but the sun was out and I knew it would be a lot warmer in OZ. Managed to ride on a tram, go punting, walk through the botanical gardens and main square and visit the highly modern and impressive art gallery, before jumping in a cab and getting on the plane for the short flight [3 hours] to Sydney over the Tasman Sea and heading in a homeward direction for the first time :o) Have had a fab time in New Zealand, it definitely has a feeling of England about it, but with the mountains and sea close by. It has stunning scenery and very few people, but who have a great sense of humour. Arrived at Sydney and jumped on the underground train into the city and caught a glimpse of the Harbour Bridge just as the sun was setting. Had a great meal by Darling Harbour at a fab sea food restaurant, washed down with some bubbly. Welcome to OZ :o)
