We went to disneyland- the magic kingdom today - I don't think anything will ever compare to its total loveliness!
the kids said that they had the best day ever here - it was their favourite place.
Partly this may have to do with the fact that it was pouring with rain and there was thunder in the skies above, therefore the park was, by disney standards, pretty quiet. Additionally, due to the bad weather, and the fact that we have had a few thunderstorms, the temperature was totally agreeable i.e. we didn't dissolve into puddles onto the floor.
However, the variety of rides and shows were right up the kids street and the queue times, apart from Space Mountain (which was 90 mins) were no longer than about 15/20 mins at most. This made live much more tolerable - plus I thought the waiting areas, i.e. where you queue, there was still so much to see and do that you didn't really notice that you were waiting.
We really liked the 3d Mickey show - which was amazing and the Buzz Lightyear ride, where you get to zap aliens. The kids went on this a few times.
Nothing really prepared us for the magical sight of the castle all lit up in the evening and the way that the park really was so quiet in the evening.
We had arrived at about 10.30 in the morning and at 10.00 at night we were still going strong.
The fireworks were just indescribable, I have never seen anything like it and it was just worth the wait and every penny.
Eva's face watching the parades and waving to all the characters (incidentally Osc thought this was a bit lame but did feel an urge to thump a few of Cinderella's mice!), was just lovely to watch, she was completely transfixed by everything going on.
I could just go on and on and on about this place. The only thing that I would critisize were the mosquitoes that attacked us on the ferry back across the lake but I guess even disney can't control the insect population!
I think this was the kids favourite place and they would go again and again and again!
We had a lovely day here and I wasn't once overwhelmed with the cheese factor or anybody smiling too much - guess I'm just a little girl at heart - I was heard to woo and sigh at the lit up castle and fireworks!
Lovely just lovely
