Mate, your pics of that skydive off the tower in Auckland don't sufficiently show the death-defying enormity of your jump (630 metres?) Please post at least one pic of you after landing. Jelly-legs are nothing to be ashamed of after a jump like that: we who follow your website want the full story!

Oh My God, you are so brave. Nothing more to say here except wow and big respect and love to you. Oh, and, you be careful, I worry! Big hug. xxx

Yo, Gordon,
Just off to pick up my freedom pass and then off to work. My B'day dinner was a great surprise and a big success enhanced by James' fine reading of your e mail. Thanks for those lovely thoughts and you were missed by all concerned. The evening came after a great day at Chelsea where we were treated to the edifying specactle of liverpool being stuffed more thoroughly than the Christmas goose. 2-0. A great start my 6th decade. We talked a lot about you and your adventures gliding and glacier watching and volcano chasing. I stood up for you stoutly as you might imagine but there is a growing rumour that you are sending these reports from a small flat in Croydon armed with a laptop and a copy of National Geographic. Please ignore such small minded reports and continue your travels. Otherwise the evening was a delight organised wonderfully by Lisa and Rhiannon with great style and imagination. It was huge fun and despite not touching a drop I have a hangover today. So unfair. Looking forward to many more cuttings from Health and Efficiency etc. We will celebrate your return in style. Continued adventures in the Southern Hemisphere! Love , Mike g

G'day Gordon,
A couple of your postcards have arrived at CAN, many thanks. I just took a moment this morning to catch up on your website - which I hadn't seen since early November - wow! You have been clocking up the kilometres and packing in the adventures! The stories from Oz were a welcome reminder of the good life back home and NZ looks and sounds breathtaking. All the best for the experiences still to come!
Cheers, AL

PS, I forgot to add the Myeraki is Moeraki and Kae is Kea (figuring the last one is just a typo, not sure about the first one). =)

Hi Gordon
I just logged in to see how the rest of your travels in NZ were going - sounds like you had a fab time and made the most of it! Very jealous about the gliding thing, I must do that one day.
Not much new to report at this end. I've got a nice couple of long weekends away with friends and family coming up, and whilst I am looking forward to them I am also in the midst of deciding whether to go to Europe or Patagonia at the end of the year - I can't seem to stay still for very long!
Take care, I"ll look forward to reading how you get on.
Cheers, Kim

Hi Gordon
Your messages from NZ make good reading. wonderfull to know that you are having such exciting experiences.
Do you know what ? I am still in Thailand . The trip to the North was such a success that we decided to have a repeat next month. In the meantime went to stay on a private Island sheer bliss....
Am expecting a fedex box with all my mail tomorrow .... 8 weeks of it! that may make me come down to earth.

Another publishing year is about to begin; so what do i choose to do in desperation at lack of enthusiasm, sitting here on friday afternoon when i should be editing or briefing my jacket designer or selling some foreign rights or chasing up bloody waterstones for some book sales, I check in for the first time to your travel diary and as a result of being totally captivated and absorbed i sat here reading and looking at your pics right through the time of a hospital appointment i was supposed to be at at 2.30pm! I wish to goodness I had had the link for this on my laptop when i was stuck at home with my broken foot. It's great as is the beard, you look like a worthy ancient (dont mean old) thinker. Spoke to Cherry yesterday. She's only sorry that you'll have only one opportunity to meet while you are in Sydney. She's on the mend. I can see many hours will be spent checking out your movements from now on. Continue to have fun you lucky b*****. Cherry reckons you're on an oldies gap year - love it!
Mike
Hi GR and a very Happy New Year to you. Love the site and the post cards. Must get together with the other groupies
and make an exhibition when you get back. All ok here as far as I can tell. Will turn the RAV over this week, no prob.
Have now got all the pics from MY tour and am very pleased we did the roof of the Duomo. Lots of details, fabulous. Good tip.
Look forward to hearing of more adventures. Stay away from wild animals and voilcanoes. Oh, too late. Ok, enjoy.
Want to hear a Danny la Rue story? Probably not but here goes anyway! Apparently Danny, who adored his pet dogabove all else and doted on her endlessly went into a very camp Brighton pet shop to get a coat for her.
After much oohhhing and aaahhhhing he settled on a bright pink feathery concoction and set about deciding on the size.
The proprietor, his patience stretched, suggested Danny might want to bring the dog along for a fitting at
which Danny nearly had caniptions.
"Bring the dog along?"
he screeched, "Don't be ridiculous! It's meant to be a SURPRISE!!"
Try telling it down at the Wagga Wagga Men's Swill and Hairy Club. See how it goes down.

G'day GR. Throw another sanga on the bar-b for me. Ripper! I watched Neighbours today in honour of you my good friend and you know what, every body needs good neighbours because that's when good neighbours become good friends! So, although I am back at work, it clearly isn't very busy. My empire will have to wait for the proles to get back behind their desks. In the meantime I am amusing myself with all sorts. Had a lovely festive time. Much fun and urgently needed relaxation. It was quite a year. I hope that this one is full of joy, peace and love for you and me also. Am looking forward to further reports, photograph's (got a digital camera myself for Christmas - aren't they marvellous?) and adventures. You are having them all for me you understand! It's all about me. ME, ME, ME, ME and ME. Much love and God Bless, your friend who is a Sheila but whose name isn't. xxxxx
