Maybe not Gordon's last trip
Saw the year in overlooking the Sydney Bridge - two displays (one at nine o'clock and the main event at midnight) made me feel really embarrassed to admit that we hardly spent anything in London.
And, no. its not me, as you might suspect on the postcard.......although I have been to Manly (yes,Manly) Beach to see the surfers.
Still recovering from the shock of going for a short walk (two hours) on New Year's Day to find out afterwards that we had been stomping along in 44 degrees!! Following day it dropped to a comfortable 28 with a mild breeze.
Having a great time here looking out at the Sydney Bridge and Opera House across the bay from the home of my friends, Stuart, Sarah and their wonderful boys James and Ian. (I am writing this as James is standing at my shoulder as I write and, as I am sleeping in his bedroom and he is having to share a room with his younger brother, I need to keep on his right side!).
Haven't seen any unusual signs yet in town but will keep looking. Have seen an awful lot of flesh however. Some tanned, taut, tight and tasty and some just round, rotund, and roly poly!
Woken this morning by the strange sound of a Kookaburra arguing with its partner.
MESSAGE TO BOB THE BOB
Bought my first copy of the Aussie Big Issue and had a long talk with the vendor. The joke here is that they sell more copies when the sun shines as, when it rains, the magazine gets damp as it doesn't have a laminated cover!! Content looks quite different with not nearly as much on rock and pop. This week's copy is a special annual short story edition.
Planning my next move around New South Wales and Victoria by car.
More soon.
