Maybe not Gordon's last trip
Imagine a day when you start, at 3.30 am driving up a mountain to watch the sun rise over a live volcano........and eighteen hours later find yourself sitting in a bar full of football fans watching, live, transmission of Arsenal v Chelsea!
Well that was Sunday.
Began with a four wheel drive up some mountain roads to watch the sunrise over Mount Bromo and then followed that by a horseback ride up the volcano side to a point where you then walk to the crater edge. To use a current word from my teenage Aussie companions - Awesome!
Nothing can quite capture the collection of feelings that go with such a variety of actions, all within a less than twenty four period.
To add to the events, all of which took place before 9.00am, we then took a five hour train journey, a one hour ferry ride and a further two hour cross island trip to where we are now......in Bali.
I have just done a mental check and figured out that I have been on seven islands in the past month and heavens knows how many seas I have dipped my toes in.
Quiet day to day......massage by the pool side before taking dinner in a local Balinese home...(sorry about that, but you have to admit that it is worth mentioning).
Probably nothing much more, apart from some better food here in Bali, before I get to Australia in a few days.
