Enjoyed cooking our own brekkie this morning with local produce supplied by our hostess Sue (including WA milk in a plastic bag!) By 9ish drove into town to Visitors Centre, as it opened for some advice for the day, then coffee at the Mill house cafe. Bought our tickets for the 2 pm departure of the Pemberton Forest Tram, then drove the 17km out on the Nannup road to the Beedelup Falls, in the Beedelup National Park. Was a great experience on such a magnificently warm and sunny day. So picturesque walking through bush tracks and across the swinging bridge to view the cascading falls. Kept going with the walk along the edge of Beedelup Lake through the forest to The Karri Forest Resort. Looked lovely with rooms positioned over the water - interesting as we had considered staying here. Very quiet and serene; people canoeing, hiking etc. Completed the circuit back to the falls then headed back into Pemberton. Picked up some fresh rolls at the bakery and went back to the cottage for lunch . I wandered across the road to the woodcraft gallery for a browse then we were off for our tram ride - almost two hours meandering through the Karri, Marri and Jarrah forest. We travelled across several trestle bridges over rivers and streams to Warren River Bridge with a stop at the Cascades to wander around another waterfall area. Certainly was a pleasant and relaxing journey. Once back drove a few kms out of town to the Lavender and Berry Farm for an ice cream as we sauntered around their beautiful grounds set on a little lake. Then a final visit to a suggested spot - Jarrah Jacks Brewery out past the golf links. Picture perfect setting of rolling green hills, dam and vines as we sat on the verandah of the incredibly well set up brewery. Great spot! The Pemberton Hotel was our final stop before home - for a couple of drinks and dinner. We had promised ourselves to continue with our focus on local specialities - so tonight was the grilled fresh water trout! Did not disappoint ! Great way to finish off our stay in Pemberton ... And a local wine of course!
